WEEE Future Fund
The WEEE Future Fund is a competitive funding programme established by WEEE Ireland to support its members in developing and implementing practical projects that advance circularity within the electrical and electronic equipment sector.
The Fund is designed to help WEEE Ireland members turn circular economy opportunities into action. It supports business-led projects that address real industry challenges, test or implement practical solutions and demonstrate measurable potential for environmental and circular economy impact.
The WEEE Future Fund is administered by Irish Manufacturing Research (IMR) on behalf of WEEE Ireland.
Applications are invited from eligible WEEE Ireland members proposing projects that:
- Develop, pilot, demonstrate or implement practical circular economy solutions.
- Prevent waste or extend the useful life of electrical and electronic equipment, products, components or materials.
- Enable increased reuse, repair, refurbishment, remanufacturing, recovery or other higher-value circular activities.
- Improve resource efficiency or support more circular product, service or business models.
- Deliver measurable circular economy and environmental benefits.
- Demonstrate a credible pathway to implementation within the funded project period.
- Generate learning, approaches or solutions with potential for continued use, scaling or wider replication.
The WEEE Future Fund plans to provide four awards ranging from €40,000 to €50,000 each. Projects must be led by an eligible WEEE Ireland member and completed within a maximum period requested, either 6 or 9 months.
Projects may involve other organisations, including technology providers, suppliers, customers, research organisations or other collaborators, where their involvement supports successful project delivery. The WEEE Ireland member must remain the Lead Applicant and will be responsible for the application, management of the award and delivery of the funded project.
Funding will be awarded through a competitive process. Eligible applications will be independently evaluated against three criteria: Fit and Impact, Project Quality and Deliverability, and Value and Future Potential. WEEE Ireland will make the final funding decisions, taking account of the independent evaluation results, available programme budget and the overall balance of the funded portfolio.
Before completing an application, applicants should read the WEEE Future Fund Guide for Applicants, (available on the website) which provides full information on programme eligibility, eligible costs, the application and evaluation process, funding arrangements and project requirements.
Applications must be completed and submitted through the official WEEE Future Fund online application portal hosted on Award Force. Applicants are encouraged to review the Online Application Reference (available on the website) before starting their submission so they understand the information required and can prepare their application efficiently.
Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all information provided is complete, accurate and consistent across the application and any supporting information submitted.
Applications submitted after the published deadline or through alternative submission methods will not be accepted.
IMR will host an Application Clinic on Friday, 16th of October at 10:00am for further information and to support interested fund entrants. Register for your place here »
