Repair Initiatives
April 28, 2026
As part of our Circular Economy Strategy 2025–2027, WEEE Ireland is progressing key developments in repair and reuse in Ireland and has several updates to share.
National Repair Voucher Pilot
WEEE Ireland are always proud to represent our Members on the National Repair and Reuse Network (NRRN), hosted by the EPA. At recent meetings, the proposed Repair Voucher Pilot Scheme (2027), referenced in the recent Whole of Government Circular Economy Strategy 2026-2028 in Section 6.2 (Action 56), has been discussed and debated by the network with DCEE officials. This initiative is in line with Ireland’s requirements under the Right to Repair Directive.
The pilot voucher scheme aims to subsidise consumer repairs of products, including EEE. The network is requesting industry input on the pilot’s design, e.g. which products, funding, and support measures to ensure it effectively boosts professional repairs nationally.
We welcome queries and input from our Members on this workflow. Please contact roisin@weeeireland.ie for more information on the NRRN or the repair voucher pilot or contact Darren Byrne at PRI@dcee.gov.ie at the Department of Environment directly with your feedback.
National Repair Directory
We would also like to draw attention to a recent EPA publication outlining the proposed development of a national Repair Directory for Ireland, in line with the requirements of the Right to Repair Directive. This report will be a key reference document informing the phased implementation of the Directive over the coming year. Repair My Stuff has been identified for incorporation as Ireland’s national repair directory under the requirements of the Directive.
WEEE Ireland maintains an ongoing partnership with Repair My Stuff to support consumer access to authorised repair service providers for EEE products and intends to further strengthen this collaboration as the platform evolves during 2026 and 2027. Are your repair services listed on the Repair My Stuff platform, or do you have a query about this developing partnership?

WEEE Repair Data Study (2026)
WEEE Ireland, with consultants dss+, have recently launched our latest data project, supported by the White Goods Association (WGA) at Ibec, to quantify repair activity in Ireland’s electrical and electronic sector.
In the coming weeks, Members will be asked to provide repair metrics (via confidential survey or interview) to showcase the scale of repairs already happening on the Irish market and support evidence-based policy. You can find a copy of the previous study completed in 2021 here.
If you are interested in getting involved with this year’s repair data survey, please contact elizabeth@weeeireland.ie with related queries.
