The RoHS Directive (2002/95/EC) has been transposed into Irish legislation under SI 290 Waste Management (Restriction of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Regulations 2005. After 1st July 2006, components and materials of EEE, placed on the market for the first time, can only contain limited concentrations of Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Hexavalent Chromium, Polybrominated Biphenyls and Polybrominated Dipenhyl Ethers.
