What happens to WEEE
Find out more information on WEEE Ireland’s recyclers »
- WEEE Ireland requires its recyclers to integrate a new standard called the WEEE Label of Excellence or “WEEELABEX” into their process.
- This standard outlines best practice for the handling, storage, treatment and recycling of WEEE to ensure high levels of recycling and hazard removal right to the end of waste status or disposal.
- The standard is being further developed by CENELEC, the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardisation, to become a European Standard EN 50625-01. This is due to be published in 2014.
- See WEEELABEX organisation for more information about the standard or contact our office for further details.
